Students of Pacific Grove High School started off the 2017-2018 school year with an “Around the World” themed Homecoming Dance on Saturday, September 23rd.

Zeus Marquez and Kulaea Tulua were elected Homecoming King and Queen by the student body and were both seen busting a move on the dance floor last Saturday. The rest of the Homecoming court consisted of Nicole Poppino and Tucker Evans (Freshmen), Dylan MacLaren and Emily Kanales (Sophomores), and Sydney Miller and Nick Franklin (Juniors). Junior’s, representing India, won the float competition with their roughly five foot tall elephant made of paper and chicken wire. Each float took weeks to build, and were all on display at the Homecoming dance for students to enjoy.

At homecoming, students enjoyed the DJ along with playing wii and eating free cake. Homecoming King Zeus Marquez said that “Homecoming was super cool. I loved being able to hang out with all my friends and dancing to songs I felt like I haven’t heard in ages. As King, it felt amazing when I was called up during the Football Game knowing my class had nominated me.”

Homecoming proved to be success, and students are looking forward to the next formal dance: Winter Ball.
