Mr. Payan is looking for students to sign up for Sports Medicine during class registration these coming weeks.

The Sports Med class learns the essentials of rehabilitation, conditioning, and training in a hands-on environment.

In addition, the Sports Med class goes on field trips each year to see professional trainers in a real-world setting. For example, on February 3rd the Sports Med class will travel to Oakland for its annual visit with the Raiders! This visit allows students to observe NFL players while they are being trained and rehabbed for next year’s season. Students will also hear from the Raiders’ trainers on their history and the importance of building positive relationships throughout their career.

Students in Sports Med get the opportunity to learn from several doctors and therapists that visit the classroom throughout the year.

The Sports Med class also visits either the Cal or Stanford Sports Medicine department and a dissection lab each year.
