Visual and Performing Arts Week otherwise known as VAPA has become an annual tradition at our high school and goes along with the school’s talent show Student Voices. Every year there is a theme for VAPA Week and this year’s theme was Taking to the streets and the art of Mr. Kelly’s art students reflects this theme. The Art 1 students designed their own graffiti fonts. The Art 1 student then painted and designed words in these fonts and can be seen all around campus on bulletin boards in main hall, by the library, Building F., and at the student union. Art 2 students also participated by painting canvases with designs inspired by street art, each is designed to promote it own positive message including the breaking down of stereotypes and that we are all beautiful. All of this art can be found throughout the campus during this year’s VAPA Week.
